Creating a Trial Extension Offer

N
Written by Nawras Ganim

A trial extension offer adds extra days to a customer's current trial period, giving them more time to explore your product before committing. It is specifically designed for customers on a free trial who are thinking about leaving before they have converted to a paid plan.

How to create a trial extension offer

  1. Open your flow and go to the Offers step

  2. Click Add offer and select Trial extension

  3. Set the number of additional days to add (commonly 7, 14, or 30)

  4. Write the headline and description the customer will see

  5. Set targeting conditions to ensure this offer only shows to trial users

πŸ’‘ Use audience targeting to restrict to trial users

Make sure you set an audience condition that targets customers with a trial subscription status. Showing a trial extension to a paying customer would be confusing. This requires a connected payment processor.

Writing the offer copy

Be specific about what the extension gives them. "Get 14 more days free to explore [Feature Name]" outperforms "We're extending your trial" because it reminds them of the specific value they have not yet unlocked.

βœ… Churn.io applies the extension automatically

When a customer accepts and a valid Stripe subscription ID was passed in the session, Churn.io extends the trial end date on the subscription by the configured number of days. No backend work is required on your side.
