A session is the core unit of measurement in Churn.io. Your monthly plan is priced around how many sessions you use. Understanding exactly what counts as a session helps you pick the right plan and avoid unexpected charges.

What counts as a session

A session is recorded the moment a customer opens your cancel flow, regardless of what they do next. All of the following count as one session:

  • A customer opens the flow and accepts a retention offer

  • A customer opens the flow and cancels anyway

  • A customer opens the flow and closes it without completing any step

⚠️ Preview sessions do not count

Sessions triggered through the built-in flow preview in the editor are excluded from your monthly count. Only real customer sessions are billed.

Monthly session allowance

Your plan determines how many sessions are included each month:

  • Free plan: 50 sessions per month. Additional sessions are billed at $1.00 each.

  • Pro plan: a fixed monthly allowance based on your chosen session tier (200 to 10,000+)

Checking your session usage

You can view your current month's usage at any time from Settings > Billing > Usage. The usage page shows sessions used, sessions remaining, and the billing cycle reset date.

βœ… Notifications before you overage

Churn.io sends you an email notification when you reach 80% and 100% of your monthly session allowance, so you can upgrade your tier before unexpected overage charges apply.
